What is julion alvarez banned?

Julion Alvarez is a Mexican regional music singer and composer born on April 11, 1983, in Nayarit, Mexico. He became popular and achieved widespread success in the music industry with his unique style of traditional Mexican music. However, in 2017, he was banned from performing in the United States due to alleged connections to drug trafficking.

The United States Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Julion Alvarez and declared him a "Specially Designated Narcotics Trafficker" for allegedly having links to a drug trafficking organization named "Raul Flores Hernandez". As a result, his touring and recording activities were halted, and he was also removed from some popular music shows.

However, in 2018, the OFAC lifted the sanctions imposed on Julion Alvarez, stating that they found no evidence to support the allegations against him. Since then, he has resumed his music career and continued to produce and perform his popular regional Mexican music.
